To mark the official opening of its brand new factory in Yate, SSC Laser Cutting made a charitable donation after Gloucestershire Cricket Captain cut the blue ribbon.
The opening ceremony took place on Friday 20th March. Cricket Captain Geraint Jones- MBE officially opened the factory and along with Carl Grattage (SSC Laser Financial Director) they presented Anna Keir (Fund Raising Manager for Bristol & Somerset NSPCC) with a cheque for £1000.
England Ashes winning cricketer Geraint Jones- MBE joined the celebrations and officially opened the 18,000 square foot facility which has been totally refurbished, housing over £600,000 worth of the very latest laser cutting and press braking machinery.
Geraint, whose cricketing career has seen him play for England in 34 test matches, scoring 1172 runs, including one century and 6 half centuries, said SSC Bristols new venture is very similar to my new venture with Gloucestershire Cricket Club, there is a great team spirit, which can only be a good thing. He added, Gloucestershire Cricket Club is delighted to have received sponsorship from SSC Laser for our 2015 season.
Anna Keir said The NSPCC really appreciate the donation SSC Laser has made to our charity. Every penny that is donated to our charity goes towards making things better for children who face cruelty or abuse.
SSC Managing Director, Andy Evans thanked the staff of SSC Bristol for all their hard work and commitment in setting up the Manufacturing division. He also thanked all of the customers who deal with the Bristol division saying Establishing this new factory would not have been possible without the unprecedented support SSC has received from our South West customers.
The celebrations continued in to the night at The Bell Inn at Old Sodbury where a meal and drinks were enjoyed by all!
